Ms. Sandra - Review I heard of Center for Joint Replacements through a CNN TV documentary on joint replacements and was impressed by the care and attention shown, so it stayed in my mind.

I was diagnosed as osteo-arthritis in right leg, requiring a hip joint replacement surgery. I had previously experienced a complete hip replacement in 1999 in the UK on the left leg, and was enthusiastic about this new procedure, maintaining more of the bone stock. So,at that time of diagnosis in Dubai, I made a consultant appointment(s) and was given an estimate ,almost double the charge at Center for Joint Replacements. I went online for information at Center for Joint Replacements and e-mailed them background information and was very impressed by the response and package cost.

I had previously visited Mumbai on business but could not say that I was familiar or comfortable as it was like going into unknown. My husband and I had made the decision for me to travel alone, so I was a little apprehensive though I was comforted by my previous experience of this type of surgery and recovery. Immediately upon arrival the treatment was superb,a wheel chair was available immediately at the gate and the attendant ensured a swift process through immigration.(It seemed much more organized than the previous trip in 2002!)That alone was comforting , and immediately out of arrivals was Bharat. He ensured a swift transfer to the transport and straight away I felt very reassured that the Center for Joint Replacements is such a professional organization.

I had planned one day free before the surgery and we conducted all the tests, X-rays and meeting with my consultant surgeon, Dr. Kumar. Right from the start I felt very assured that I was in good hands as there was truly open communication between doctors and myself.

The suite itself was very spacious and very clean and I was impressed by the facilities on internet, TV, DVD, and a spacious en-suite bathroom.

The nurses are also superb! As I was alone I felt that they made a special effort to keep me company and to allay any fears of the surgery, all of which was truly appreciated .It’s like a team spirit here, like a family and they truly go out of their way to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.

On recovery form the operation I was stunned by the level of pain I was experiencing, as this was contradictory to my previous surgery. The Chief Orthopedic Surgeon was very attentive to my needs and he ensured excellent pain management. Upon more mobility he encouraged me to sit at 90 degrees in order to identify there was no hip difficulty. There was none , which was a huge relief and he rapidly identified the pain as coming from nerves, damaged by the epidural attempts. He promptly changed my medication to treat this concern.

Success!The recovery process is explained in advance and the post-op experience basically is the same, so you feel reassured that you have excellent care and medical attention.

Would I recommend the Center for Joint Replacements to others? without a doubt! This medical treatment is equal (if not better) than what you would expect in a European hospital. I have been impressed by the delivery of the service and customer care and their main concern is you. There is excellent value for money, comparable to none! And I would know, from personal experience, that you can place your health in the hands of this excellent team of professionals – doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and the administrative side-even the attendees (cleaners, workers etc.) are very professional and courteous and I know that the whole team would help you as much as possible an that’s what counts with your health!
