Dr Satish Rao is a famed Onco-surgeon in India with vast experience in operating oral, thyroid, parotid and laryngeal Cancer. He has performed large number of breast conservation cancer surgeries including Lumpectomies. He is widely appreciated for his clinical and surgical skills in Oncology. He received his advanced training in Head & Neck Oncology from Sloan Kettering Cancer centre, New York, USA. He has more than 25 scientific publications and papers to his credit in International as well as National journals. He won prize for Best Oral Presentation in Indian Society of Oncology (ISOCON) 2000 conference. He also received Varoon Mahajan Travelling Fellowship for gaining experience in Surgical Oncology from Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York, USA.

He is currently associated as Head of Department of Surgical Oncology at HCG ICS Khubchandani Cancer Centre Mumbai. He has received specialized training in endoscopic laser surgery for head & neck cancer from the University of Kiel and University of Gottingen, Germany. He has been in the executive committee of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology, Foundation for Head & Neck Oncology and International College of Surgeons, Indian Section.
